Construction
One of the key elements of a satisfying garden is the quality of its construction. At Pond & Garden we use the latest and well proven hard landscaping techniques. This combined with materials of the highest quality ensure that your garden will last for many years without need of constant maintenance and repair.
Paving is laid on a mortar bed which in itself is laid on a layer of compacted hardcore.
This stabilizes the ground and gives a solid platform so the paving does not become
uneven. Walls are laid on strong concrete foundations and pointed with our own special
pointing mix to withstand the tou
ghest of British weather.
Materials are sourced locally wherever possible to save on the carbon foot print of your gardens construction. We sort and recycle waste materials to save on land fill.
Ponds are constructed with the latest EPDM liners that are stronger than Butyl yet less harmful to the environment to manufacture. Pond edges are naturalized so no liner is visible making them look as natural as possible. Pond pumps are used that incorporate adjustable wildlife filters and biological filters to keep the water clear.
The hard landscaping is the framework of you garden and along with the correct design and planting scheme will enhance the beauty and practicality of your outdoor room for many years.
